J.P. Kavanaugh

Keyboards and Arrangements

J.P. Kavanaugh is a keyboard player, and a composer/arranger from Tampa, FL. His creative experience includes composing and directing two orchestral soundtracks for The Family Channel, creating orchestrations for the Walton Symphony Orchestra in Atlanta, and writing the score for three live recording sessions.

He toured as a keyboard player for Out of Eden, and has performed with Capitol Records artist John Berry.


He was a guest conductor for the Walton Symphony Orchestra in Atlanta. His musical theater experience in Tampa includes: Musical Director for Oklahoma at the Show Palace, Godspell and Tick Tick Boom! at the Straz Performing Arts Center, and was a sub Musical Director for The Rocky Horror Picture Show. He just finished an 8 month tour as the keyboard player/ producer / arranger for the TRUTH 40th Anniversary tour.

He has been a show arranger, and vocal / instrumental trainer for several stage productions at Busch Gardens, Tampa, and has played in recent shows, including Rock a Doo Wop, Christmas From the Heart, and Kinetix. JP is the founder of Reed Street Theater Works whose mission is to develop artistic teams to collaborate on innovative musical theater projects, and he is composing a musical based on the book, The Count of Monte Cristo.
